About me!

Hi! I’m Alexa, and you’ve stumbled across my travel blog. I started this page to chronicle my two-month, cross-country adventure to stunt school during the summer of 2009, but it has turned into much more!

A little bit about me:

I moved to NYC in May 2011 to pursue a career as a professional stuntwoman. In here, I’ll be posting the new things I find and the ridiculous adventures I embark on in my new home and around the world as time/money allows.

I’m a 2009 graduate from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in environmental science and journalism. I currently work at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service as the Northeast Region Web Manager and Social Media Specialist. Though cubicle life isn’t generally conducive to the stunting lifestyle, I enjoy my job and still make sure to have my fun afterward.

My favorite things to do: rock climbing, taekwondo, gymnastics, jumping off of high stuff, bicycling, camping, climbing trees, diving, snowboarding, skiing, just about anything active really.

Hi, I’m Curt Woodward from the Associated Press in Olympia, Wash. I’m coming up to Seattle next week to do a story on the International Stunt School — I just stumbled upon your travel blog while Googling for info about the school.
I’m hoping to focus my story on people who are pursuing stunt training now because of the bad economy — laid off, unable to find work, stuck in a job they don’t like, etc.
Does that apply to you? Or if not, do some of your fellow students fit that description?
    Thanks for your time!
    Curt
